Barrel bombs are the biggest killer of civilians living in opposition-held areas of Syria. The brave volunteers of the Syrian Civil Defence risk their lives daily and have saved nearly 18,000 people from the attacks.  Last week, the head of the Syrian Civil Defence traveled to the UN Security Council and gave an impassioned plea for international action to put a stop to the bloodshed. This followed an op-ed in Politico, where he explained that a no-fly zone is the only way to stop the bombs.
ID advises the Syrian Coalition, which shares the belief that a no-fly zone is a necessary step to save lives and bring about a peaceful transition in Syria.
